Welcome to the nearest place to heaven on the web
Alexandra Park Club is a volunteer led, community sports club encouraging the participation in Cricket and Football in Haringey, North London.
Alexandra Park (AP) Cricket Club itself is an historic and open club founded in 1888 and playing in the grounds of Alexandra Palace and Park. With great views of the Palace and surrounded by its grounds it is often easy to forget you are playing cricket in North London.
The club is situated within a stones throw of Alexandra Palace Station, on the overground line out of Finsbury Park and Kings Cross. We are also a short walk from Wood Green Station on the Piccadilly Line. We are ideally sited for the surrounding areas of Muswell Hill, Bounds Green, New Southgate, Haringey and Tottenham.
We are an open club welcoming members of all standards. We run 4 Saturday league sides and an occasional friendly team and a Sunday team.
The history of the club runs to nearly 125 years and we were so well known pre and post second world war that Donald Bradman chose to film his book 'How to play cricket' at the ground during the Australian tour of 1934 (in utmost secrecy as it broke the rules of the ACB at the time). The 'Don' wrote the forward for our centenary booklet.
The club is very social and welcoming. We also have one of the longest running club tours in existence with 2012 set to be our 76th tour of Kent!
All new members are welcome to join so please get in touch at alistair@alexandraparkcricketclub.com
